About Us

We're exicted to tell you more about us! ðŸ¤—

Our vision is a society that learns from the experiences of the past and works toward a better future. By sharing stories, we aim to foster understanding and empathy, and inspire people to take action and make a positive impact on the world.

Our Story

and the origin of our name

Our founder, a 29-year-old public servant, grew up in modest circumstances. Influenced by his childhood, he recognized early the importance of supporting one another and ensuring that no one is left behind.

This sense of responsibility deepened in 2022 when his uncle Vedat passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. The shock was profound, but what struck him even harder was the realization that, in just one or two generations, few would remember who Vedat was. His experiences, the challenges he faced, the laughter he shared, the suffering he endured – all of it risked being forgotten forever.

From that pain, a powerful idea was born: a vision to create a space for these stories. Stories of individuals who may not be famous, yet whose lives are equally meaningful, moving, and deserving of remembrance. Our platform is that space. We collect, preserve, and share stories, ensuring they continue to live on. Our mission is to promote understanding, foster humanity, and guarantee that no one is truly forgotten.

Simultaneously, we aim to ignite a larger conversation: one that confronts topics often pushed aside – the pain, the shock, the anger. War, injustice, poverty, exclusion, and disaster occur daily across the globe. By illuminating these experiences, we not only cultivate compassion but also raise awareness. From awareness, real change can emerge.

Our Association

and how we work

Our association is based on clear structures – driven by people who believe in our vision and push it forward with heart and responsibility.

At the top is the executive board, led by the chairperson. Additionally, there is the extended board with two members, the vice-chairperson, and the treasurer.

The chairperson is responsible for leading the association. They handle the strategic direction, represent the association externally, and coordinate all activities. Their role is to keep an overview, make decisions in the best interest of the association, and keep the vision alive. They are supported by the extended board, who bring their expertise in various fields. They assist with project organization, public relations, and the development of our platform. They also provide advisory support to the chairperson and take on responsibility for the operational implementation of our goals.

Together, the three ensure that the association is not only managed but filled with life – with ideas, stories, and genuine commitment.

Our Achivements

and future plans

May 2025

Another big step: The association is officially registered and now carries the name Vedat e.V. With this, our vision is no longer just an idea – it is now a recognized organization with a clear mission.

April 2025

The official founding event takes place in Nuremberg, Germany. The seven members come together and collectively decide to establish Vedat e.V., signing the association’s charter – a significant milestone and the beginning of a shared journey.

January 2025

In January 2025, the decision was made to establish a non-profit organisation. Seven dedicated volunteers came together to further develop the vision, create initial structures, and lay the foundation for the work we do today.
